Loved it!

This is the second book in the Always series and I have to say, WINNER! I loved it! the writing and the plot was so nice. I can't complain one bit. I absolutely adored Dean in the first book and to read his story was so great! He and Riker were amazing together.

But, Oh my poor feelings! Lol Daniel, how I loved you so much and who would have guessed at that turn of events? I was in tears reading the letter. I especially loved when Jax and Riker bonded before they went back to check up on Dean. Can we have a Clare and Jax romance? They are super cute together! I love Clare and Jax - put them together and I'm a happy camper!

Now for the meat of the matter, how amazing was Dean and Riker! They were so right for each other. All of Dean's issues made so much sense in hindsight. I was just so sorry that he had to go through all of that. What kind of mother does that? Ugh. Riker, your bad dream had me feeling for you on so many levels. You were so adorable as a little kid. And as a tattooed singer now, you're super hot and so perfect for Dean.

I loved reading the snip bits of Damon and Jason. They are so adorable together, I just love when Damon is all alpha on J. Sigh. That ending though, whew, I was holding my breath but it turned out so hot! Lol I have to say, I enjoyed every page of this book. 5 beautiful stars!

I've come to ENJOY reading romantic books of male on male LOVE. This one is a KEEPER! There's so much to experience,..... death, avoidance, acceptance, true friendships, deadly irresponsible pathetic parents, a loving understanding uncle, strength, courage, facing of fears, etcetera. And let's not forget the rainbows. Beautiful, glorious rainbows after the storms of living life and stepping out, in spite of uncertainty. Also, taking hold of the blessings, after learning the lessons and getting the pots of life's gold. Well, what are you waiting for,......HITCH your eyes to this book and enjoy the ride. OH YEAH, DON'T FORGET THE SEATBELTS!

Good story but needed a copy editor

The plot and the characters were likable. Dean's losses and Riker's fear of rejection kept the tension and need between them interesting. That being said, there were places where "my" was used, though the story was written in third person, "Dean" was used when it should've been Riker, and places where the formatting was terrible. I didn't read the first one, but I strongly suggest the author ask someone to beta read for grammar, punctuation, and formatting.

About the Author
Lydia A. Conlay, MD, PhD, MBA is Professor of Anesthesiology at Baylor College of Medicine and works in the operating rooms of the Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center (Houston, Texas). Dr. Conlay received her medical degree at the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in Shreveport, her Ph.D. in Neural and Endocrine Regulation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and completed a residency in anesthesiology at the Massachusetts General Hospital/ Harvard Medical School, where she remained on the faculty for almost two decades. Subsequently, she obtained an M.B.A. at the Boston University School of Management, and chaired the Departments of Anesthesiology of the Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia and Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Dr. Conlay also served as president of the Society for Ambulatory Anesthesia, and the Society for Academic Anesthesia Chairs, and trustee of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia.
Julia E. Pollock, MD is in the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Washington Medical Center, Seattle, Washington.
Mary Ann Vann, MD is in the Department of Anesthesia and Care at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts.

Landa's Relaci�n de las cosas de Yucat�n also created a valuable record of the Mayan writing system, which despite its inaccuracies was later to prove instrumental in the later decipherment of the writing system. Landa asked his informants (his primary sources were two Maya individuals descended from a ruling Maya dynasty, literate in the script) to write down the glyphic symbols corresponding to each of the letters of the (Spanish) alphabet, in the belief that there ought to be a one-to-one correspondence between them. The results were faithfully reproduced by Landa in his later account, although he recognised that the set contained apparent inconsistencies and duplicates, which he was unable to explain. Later researchers reviewing this material also formed the view that the "de Landa alphabet" was inaccurate or fanciful, and many subsequent attempts to use this transcription remained unconvincing. It was not until much later, in the mid-twentieth century, when it was realised and then confirmed that it was not a transcription of an alphabet, as Landa and others had originally supposed, but was rather a syllabary. Confirmation of this was only to be established by the work of Russian linguist Yuri Knorozov in the 1950s, and the succeeding generation of Mayanists. About the Author
Dejon was born in California but raised in New York. He frequently travels to various states doing book signings at special events. Dejon currently has 3 Urban Fiction novels out that's very entertaining and adds a powerful razor sharp morality edge at the end of each story. Dejon's first novel is titled "ICE CREAM FOR FREAKS", his second novel is "MY SKIN IS MY SIN", and the third is "ICE COLD VENGEANCE", the long awaited sequel to the first Urban Fiction novel. Dejon hobbies includes participating in minor chess tournaments and collecting antique or hand carved chess pieces from different countries. He also loves caring for his pet fishes. Dejon has two Japanese Siamese fighting fish- "Samson" {the male} and "Delilah" {the female} in a large aquarium. He also has an albino Oscar fish and a striped tiger Oscar also in a separate decorated tank which helps with Dejon's creative writing endeavors. Dejon has another book coming out shortly which is a history {slash} philosophy book that's sure to debunk a few myths and raise quite a few eyebrows. The title is a closely guarded secret. {sorry readers}

WTF???

The book had the POTENTIAL to be a cool story as it started out interesting, but this author ruined it. He tried to intertwine too many chracters, scenarios & lifetsyles in a manner that did not mesh well. Their are simply too many main characters, he took alot of scenarios way too far & they were grotesque/far fetched, the ending was STUPID (the best word I could use) & there were too many plots. The more I read the more the book it lost it's appeal. The title has absolutelty NOTHING to do with the book (doesn't even serve as a metaphor) & the girl Pumpkin is far from the focal point of the story. Seems like this author put all his ideas in one book. Don't wast your time or money on this one. Glad I checked it out the library.

The setting for Dejon's sophomore novel, MY SKIN IS MY SIN, is an area of Atlanta known as "Little Vietnam." Here we find Pumpkin who is living with her aunt after her mother was incarcerated on drug charges. Constantly harassed by her aunt's girlfriend, Pumpkin realizes it's time to leave after almost being molested. She moves in with her friend who introduces her to her sister, Goldmine. Under Goldmine's tutelage, Pumpkin enters the world of exotic dancing and discovers the dark side of the streets.

In the backdrop, there is a drug war brewing in Little Vietnam with some drug dealers from New York who are trying to take over the territory of the local dealers. Pumpkin and Goldmine both play a part is fueling the flames. There is also an interesting subplot which involves White Boy Danny who is the coolest white guy in the hood. Readers will be shocked this "down brotha" has a hidden agenda.

MY SKIN IS MY SIN is a plot-driven ride on the wild side. It is a graphic and gritty look at the world of fast money and dangerous living. There is no glamour or success within the pages, just a hard look at the truth. The book is very well written and the author encased elements relating to loyalty, racism and the fight to survive the mean streets. This is my first book from this author and he has captured my full attention. I look forward to future offering by Dejon.

This was a good book as well, Pumpkin went through a lot and it ended so crazy and tragic. I felt like I was right there! Definitely would read again and again!
