Wonderful!!

I loved this book. My favorite of his is probably the mastery of love, then the circle of fire and so on.

I read one section in the morning and said the prayer, then did my meditations. I read that same section that night.. The next day I moved onto the next section.

I really enjoyed this book and I deffinetly would recommend it!

As I said, our mother was a bitter woman. Her dreams had been snatched from her like a hawk swooping to the ground and taking a squirrel for a meal. Gone, never to be seen again. She spanked us sometimes in the years after my grandparents left. And then came the night when she came home and the milk was spilled on the counter and dripped to the floor in a puddle that mixed with the dirt and grime. Jimmy and I had fallen asleep and I forgot to clean up the milk.

My mother yanked me up as soon as she got home and saw it. I was eight at the time and Jimmy was six. Mama pulled my panties down and began to spank me with her bare hand, over and over again. I cried and yelled and begged her to stop. But she kept going, her flat hand slapping me, stinging me. Jimmy woke up and came into the kitchen wanting to know what was going on. Mama told him to get to his bedroom—which was my bedroom too—and not show his face again unless he wanted some of it too.

Mama shoved me to the floor and told me to lick the milk up.

“It’s nasty, Mama,” I pleaded.

“You did it!” she shouted. “You clean it up.”

And so I licked the gray milk and all of the dirt with it and felt the dirt scratch my throat as I swallowed. Mama sat at the table and watched me while she smoked a cigarette.

“Don’t leave one drop!” she shouted at me. “If you do, I’ll spank you again.”

I could smell the smoke from her cigarette, which was normally a comforting smell to me. It meant Mama was home. But it wasn’t comforting as I licked the sour milk.

I started hating her that night.

The story it's written from the aspect of a teenager in terms of writing. The editing is not bad, given the perspective.
The story is sad and somewhat demented, but with this type of situation, that it's completely expected. There are some bright spots in a life of darkness. I am thankful that the ending was at least not horrible.

who will later need an understanding of electromagnetic theory and quantum mechanics. The classical physics of oscillations and waves is developed at a more advanced level than has been customary for the second year, providing a basis for the quantum mechanics that follows. In this new edition the Green's function is explained, reinforcing the integration of quantum mechanics with classical physics. The text may also form the basis of an "introduction to theoretical physics" for physics majors. The concluding chapters give special attention to topics in current wave physics: nonlinear waves, solitons, and chaotic behavior.

A text for a second pass through the subject matter

This is a somewhat advanced text demonstrating efficient methods available for solving problems in wave-related physics. As such, the text is good for someone who has already had the following math and physics courses at the 3rd or 4th year undergraduate level:

Classical Mechanics
Electricity and Magnetism
Quantum Mechanics
Partial Differential Equations
Linear Algebra
Complex Analysis

The text is presented as being suitable for people without this preparation. It is targeted at students in "accelerated programs" at the intermediate undergraduate level, but that is unrealistic. Bright students will probably manage to "muddle through" the book and the homework assignments but will miss the physical insights available from more careful treatments. If you are looking to learn material on waves for the first time, this is not the book for you.
However, if you are an advanced undergraduate (senior) or beginning graduate student, this book is valuable for its sophisticated and unifying perspective on material that you will have seen in your upper undergraduate level classes. Towards the end of the book, the author introduces solitons and chaos with a level of detail not usually seen in texts for undergraduates. Although it is an advanced book for an undergraduate, it is not an "advanced graduate" text (read: "research prep." a'la Springer Monographs).

In short, it is an excellent book to own and read if you already have, or are about to have, a degree in physics. Otherwise, look elsewhere.

Caroline Porter Thomas is the author of How to Succeed in Nursing School & New Nurse? How to Get Keep and LOVE Your First Job as a Nurse. Which offers a revolutionary approach to achieving success in nursing school and as a Nurse. Caroline graduated from Fayetteville State University, in May 2008, with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. Currently, she works as an RN with Parallon Workforce Management Solutions in Miami FL in the Telemetry Float pool. Ms. Porter Thomas passed the NCLEX examination on her first attempt; however, her nursing school had an overall 42% first time pass rate in 2008. Since becoming aware of the fact that many of her classmates struggled through nursing school, her mission has been to identify the traits and characteristics of successful nursing students so that she can pass them on. Furthermore, Caroline also became aware of the nursing shortage which she believes is not due to a lack of interest in the profession, but due to the demanding nursing education curriculum that can be intimidating to aspiring nurses and difficult for many current students to complete. Subsequently, she decided to write a book to help all those interested in pursuing a career in nursing. In her book, Caroline has included specific strategies that she created and used to cultivate motivation and study effectively. When Caroline was in nursing school, there were so many times she said to herself, “I wish I knew this before,” or, “How on earth do I study for these exams!” After completing nursing school with honors, and passing the NCLEX on the first attempt, she realized she had a lot to offer to those who are just beginning their journey. In addition to providing her own insight, Ms. Porter Thomas interviewed 25 different nursing professors nationwide on what the habits of successful nursing students are. Great help with passing nursing school!!

This book has helped me prepare mentally and physically for my first semester in nursing school. I am so happy it was offered as a Kindle version as it makes it easier for me to have with me wherever I am. There are detailed step by step suggestions as how to study for nursing school exams. Since these exams are unlike any other exams I have taken, using the suggestions from Caroline Porter Thomas's book has built my confidence in my test taking skills by making me feel prepared. This is a great book for any pre-nursing and is still really great while presently being a nursing student.

Great book!

I stumbled upon Carolines youtube channel and noticed her mention that she wrote a book. Without a question I purchased her book. I wanted to become a nurse since high school but when I started college I realized how difficult the program seems to be so I decided to change my major. Long story short, I realized what I loved to do and how much I want to take care of people etc. Reading this book gave me SO MUCH motivation to try my hardest and go through the program. From what I've seen/read NS is not actually extremely difficult and going through hell like what some people make it out to be its just VERY time consuming. I like how in each chapter there is a short story about a students experience. She gives goo basic info for anyone. I plan on buying her other book hopefully when i will be graduating.

This book gave me more confidence to pursue a career in nursing

I am returning to school to become a nurse soon, while doing some research online I saw some of Caroline's youtube videos and when I found out she wrote a book I ordered right away. This book has a lot of information on what it is like to be a nurse, the paths you can follow to become one, what to consider in choosing schools, how to study for sciences and core classes, and much more.
Her writing style is also easy to follow and fun to read. I could not put the book down once I started.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone thinking about going to nursing school or even to someone who is already studying nursing. It also offers motivation, health tips and advice from nursing professors.

Specialist book for unusual tables

Lamport's LaTeX is where you should start with tables. You can go far with simple tables but if you are doing something unusual, I recommend Voss, who provides many helpful examples. Crib, steal, copy, modify; its so much easier to do that than create a not-so-simple all by yourself. This clearly is a specialists book, but if you have unusual tables, it greatly simplifies the learning/development curve

The Moravian Springplace Mission - 2 volume

Both times they sent this out I only received volume 1. Had to return and than was told they had a lot of problems with this product. Had to call on phone twice and last call was told they were going to credit me 10 dollars and were going to waiver charging my credit card 99 dollars to replace the book yet a third time. Than not until I inquired a third time was told the were not shipping it out and were crediting my credit card for the refund.
